MLK Day Acts of Service Event

  • Chestnutwold Elementary School 630 Loraine Street Ardmore, PA, 19003 United States (map)

Come out to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with an educational and service program in the Chestnutwold cafeteria from 10:30-12 on Monday, January 15th (MLK Day and MLK's actual birthday!).

Chestnutwold students will have the opportunity to learn about the Little Rock Nine who were the first students to desegregate their high school and Joseph McNeil, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair, Jr. and David Richmond who were inspired by Martin Luther King to start the Greensboro Sit-ins. We’ll also be writing cards for seniors to be delivered to the PALM and Quadrangle. There will be a storytime at 11:00. Students will have the chance to make a pledge on the Be a King board to show how they can keep Dr. King’s legacy alive.
