April 2026 PTO Meeting Minutes

Chestnutwold Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Meeting Agenda: April 8th, 2025

Attendees: 7 board members, 4 attendees, Mrs. Leach, 2 teachers ( Reading Specialist & Special Education)

  • Welcome & PTO Highlight of the Month

    • March Madness Pool - 43 participants, $215 for the PTO. With Super Bowl Box pool, we earned $700

  • Vote to Approve Minutes from Last Meeting (Approved)

  • Upcoming Events & Activities

    • Clubs - 11 spring clubs, about 150 kids participating. Most clubs are outside. Kickball, Run Club

    • Variety show on Fri 4/10 (13 videos)

      • Giveback will not be done during variety show - may align with the Play instead

    • Next Sat 4/18 is Bag Bingo - new venue in Ardmore. 2  tables so far

    • May - Chestnutwold Chase on Sun 5/17 - looking for volunteers to help with fundraising (reaching out to businesses)

    • Evening of the Arts is at the end of April - starting to prep for it. 13 slots filled for volunteers (will do a dedicated blast to ask for more volunteers). 

    • Mid-May - Hip Hop Fundamentals assembly

    • Hershey Park tickets sale is open - may do a “Chestnutwold Day” but do it when it’s going to close soon

    • VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES!! Executive Board;

  • Treasurers’ Monthly Report (PDF Link)

  • Principal’s Remarks 

    • One more week of regular school before we start PSSAs, field trips, 5th grade play etc.

    • PSSA reminders coming closer to the event

    • Testing is different this year (all online)

  • Teachers’ Remarks

    • Thanks for remodeling the teacher lounge - lots of thought put into it. Nice that it’s being revived. 

    • Excited for the 90’s theme 

  • Intra-District Council Update

    • Last meeting’s topic was Communication

    • Next month’s topic is Special Ed - a lot of questions have been submitted already

  • World Down Syndrome Day was great this year, kids were all so excited for Gregory

  • New Business

    • 5th grade Unity Day - volunteer signup form will be sent out.

      • Schools all team up from other elementary schools, play lawn games, water ice, lunch, tour of the middle school

      • All PTOs contribute something to the event (in the past CW has done lawn games)

    • Question about 4th grade committee - there were meant to be just two representatives - should they be responsible for getting 4th grade parents to volunteer for night of the play. Not sure if this ended up happening - need to follow up w/Alex

    • Dr Horan will be at the May PTO meeting
