We will now hold elections for the open roles on Chestnutwold’s PTO Executive Board. The positions that are open at the end of this school year are Co-President, Co-Treasurer, Secretary and VP of After-School Clubs.
Co-President Candidate: Katie Guarino
Hello! My name is Katie and this will be my first year serving as Co-President of the PTO Executive Board. I currently have one child in Kindergarten at Chestnutwold, along with three older children who do not attend Chestnutwold. I’ve spent my career working in PR, events, and social media, but have always had a love for volunteering and helping out wherever I could. I love being a part of the community at Chestnutwold and I want to continue to make my child's elementary school experience phenomenal through the incredible work that the PTO does. Let’s continue the fun and success for many more years!
14 votes- all in favor, none opposed. Motion to elect Katie Guarino as Co-President passes.
Co-Treasurer Candidate: Emily Petrosky
Hi! I am looking forward to my first year on the PTO Executive Board and am happy to be on the team as Co-Treasurer. I have been an educator in the School District of Philadelphia for the last 19 years and most currently work as an ELA Academic Coach in a K-8 school. My children are in the 1st, 3rd and 5th grades at Chestnutwold and am thankful each day for the wonderful education and supportive community they are provided. I am excited to be a part of the PTO and give back to our amazing school!
14 votes- all in favor, none opposed. Motion to elect Emily Petrosky as Co-Treasurer passes.
Secretary Candidate: Brittany Bisceglia
My son will be in third grade at Chestnutwold next year, and my family and I love being part of this community. I grew up in Delaware County, spent nearly a decade in Brooklyn, and moved to Ardmore in 2020. Despite living in PA, my son and husband are still die-hard Yankees fans. Since my son started kindergarten at Chestnutwold, I’ve volunteered as a Homeroom Helper and spent the past two years leading the Art Club. Professionally, I’m a Director of Product Management at an education technology company, helping teams manage web content for university partners. I also served on the board of my company’s Parent and Caregiver Business Resource Network, advocating for working parents and caregivers. I look forward to contributing to Chestnutwold through the PTO and becoming even more involved in this wonderful community!
14 votes- all in favor, none opposed. Motion to elect Brittany Bisceglia as Secretary passes.
VP of Clubs Candidate: Sandy McManus
I am interested in serving as the Vice President of Clubs in the coming years. My husband and I and our three children (7th grader at HMS, 3rd and 2nd graders at Chestnutwold) have been members of the Chestnutwold community for many years and I have previous volunteered with the PTO as Co-Chair of the Welcome Families Event and as a Homeroom Helper. When I am not with my family, I work as an environmental attorney in the chemical industry. Our family is grateful for the sense of community at Chestnutwold and the many wonderful memories that we have made at PTO events and I would love do my part of fill the big shoes of those that have gone before me.
14 votes- all in favor, none opposed. Motion to elect Sandy McManus as VP of Clubs passes.
Congratulations and a warm welcome to our new PTO Board!

BYOD Bring your own device. Fridays up until last year. Now it is in the locker all day. If it’s seen by a teacher it goes down to the office for parent pick-up.
Teams 4 in 6th grade 2 English, a Math and a Science teacher. Each team has about 120 students. Each team has a mix of all different types of students so that all teams are made up of a similar mix of students. Unified arts are a mix of all the teams.
Students are evaluated quarterly and moved accordingly.
All 6th graders eat together. The cafeteria is going through a renovation, there will be more space to move.
